When Junior came into the care of Cayla, one of the dedicated caregivers supported by the Heart of the Father Foundation, he was just nine months old.

At that time, Junior's biological parents were both facing significant challenges in their lives and were unable to care for him as he needed. Through the guidance and support of social workers, Cayla was able to open her home and heart, and Baby J was placed safely into her care.

From that very first day, Junior became part of something much bigger than just one home - he became part of a community that cares deeply for every child entrusted to us.

The day after he arrived, we shared a plea with our community for help. The response was overwhelming.
People gave generously - clothing, nappies, bottles, blankets, and all the essentials needed to welcome a little one into a safe and loving space.

And the support didn’t stop there.

Junior was graciously sponsored to attend school from the age of ten months, and since then he has continued to grow, learn, and thrive in an environment filled with care and encouragement.

Today, at 14 months old he is thriving.
He is surrounded by love, stability, and opportunity - things that every child deserves.

If it were not for the faithful support of the community surrounding Junior, he would not have all that he needs to continue growing into the little boy he is becoming.

The generosity of those who stepped in at the very beginning - and those who continue to support him - has made a lasting difference in his life.

Junior's Story

Sive's Story

When we first started mentoring young boys on Friday evenings in Walmer, there was one boy who stood out - not because he spoke, but because he didn’t.

Sive was 16 years old.

Every week he arrived with his hoodie pulled tightly over his head, his face half hidden, avoiding eye contact. While the other boys slowly began to engage, Sive stayed silent - angry, withdrawn, and deeply distrustful.

Growing up without a father figure, he carried trauma and frustration that showed in his behaviour. Like many boys in similar environments, he was used to people showing up for a short time - and then disappearing. He had learned not to trust easily.

For nearly six months, he barely participated in anything we did.

But we didn’t stop showing up.

Week after week, we stayed consistent. We talked. We listened. We gave him space without forcing him to open up. Slowly, trust began to form.

One evening, after about six or seven months, he finally spoke honestly and said words that have stayed with us ever since:

"Can you blame me for not wanting to be part of what you were doing? Nobody ever continues to come back."

That moment changed everything.

It reminded us that consistency is powerful - especially in the lives of young men who have experienced repeated disappointment.

Over time, something began to shift.

He started speaking.
Then participating.
Then laughing.

Nine months after we began mentoring, he was no longer the same boy.

In March 2025, one of the proudest moments of our journey took place - we had the privilege of baptizing Sive. Watching him stand there, choosing a new path and declaring his faith, was a moment that confirmed how God had been working in his life all along.

Today, Sive is confident, engaged, and respectful.

Most weekends, he comes to our home, spending time with our family - playing with our young son and building strong relationships with our children. What once felt distant has now become deeply connected.

Today, he says something we never take lightly:

"I am part of your family."

Sive still has siblings living in difficult circumstances, and his future could easily have followed the same path. But our goal now is to support him in pursuing higher education, helping him secure opportunities that will allow him to build a stable and independent future.

Through this journey, we have seen firsthand that transformation does not happen overnight.

It happens through consistency.
Through love.
Through faith.
Through showing up - again and again.

Because with God's guidance, one life restored can change an entire future.

Grace's Story

For more than 22 months, our family had been actively involved at a local children's home, mentoring young people on Friday evenings and spending Saturdays serving alongside them.

During that time, there was one young girl who always stood out to us.

When we first met Grace, she was 16 years old. Every time we visited, she would come straight to greet us - hugging Marique, Ruaan, and even their children. Over time, she became a familiar and joyful presence in our visits.

We never imagined how deeply connected our lives would become. Nearly 20 months after first meeting her, we received a call that would change everything.

Grace was now 17 years old and five months pregnant.

Because of the children's home's policies, they were unable to allow her to remain there. The leadership explained that keeping her could influence other girls and create similar situations. They were faced with a difficult decision - and they reached out to us to ask if we would consider taking her into our home.Soon after, an external social worker visited to assess our home and speak with our family. The reality became clear - Grace* was facing an uncertain future and the possibility of losing the stability she had known.

She was scared.
Overwhelmed.
Unsure of what would happen next.

But for us, the decision did not take long.

For some time, my wife and I had been praying and asking the Lord what He wanted us to focus on through Heart of the Father Foundation. We believed that God would make His direction clear - and when this opportunity came, we recognized it as an answer to prayer.

Our response was immediate. We said yes.

Not because it was easy, but because we believed God was leading us to act. Before finalizing the decision, we spoke to our daughter about the situation. Without hesitation, she responded with words that deeply moved us:

"We need to pick her up and bring her home."

That moment confirmed what we already felt in our hearts - this was not just our decision, but something our entire family was ready to embrace.

When Grace arrived at our home, emotions were mixed. There was fear and uncertainty - but also relief.

Relief that she would not face this journey alone.
Relief that she had somewhere safe to stay.
Relief that someone was willing to stand with her.

From the very beginning, we made one promise clear: She would finish school.

No matter the challenges ahead, she would complete Grade 12 and continue building her future.

Today, Grace is 17 years old and preparing to welcome her baby, who is due on 25 June 2026. Since coming into our home, her life has changed in meaningful ways.

She smiles more.
Talks more.
Laughs more.

She is more relaxed and beginning to feel safe - even while still facing the uncertainty of becoming a young mother. She continues attending school, working toward completing Grade 12, knowing that we will support her and help care for her baby so that her education can continue.

Her 14-year-old sister still visits on weekends, and their bond reminds us how important it is to keep siblings connected. It is our prayer that one day, through the Restoration Farm vision, both sisters can live in a stable family-style environment where they can grow together.

Grace's story is one of the reasons the vision of the Restoration Farm was born.

A place where:
