Empowering Futures

Creating safe spaces for children and nurturing communities through compassion and shared purpose.

Vision Statement | Heart of the Father Foundation

We envision a world where every child finds safety, every heart discovers hope, and every life is empowered to thrive. A world where no one is left behind, where compassion ignites transformation, and where faith fuels action. At Heart of the Father Foundation, we are restoring more than homes—we are restoring dreams, renewing spirits, and creating a future where every individual is uplifted through love, meaningful work, and unwavering community support.

Our vision extends to the creation of a safe haven on our own land, a place where individuals can grow, develop skills, and receive the training they need to reintegrate into society. This space will be a beacon of hope where we not only offer care and shelter but also equip people with the tools they need to build a sustainable, empowered future.

By integrating education, counseling, mentorship, and sustainable farming, we aim to transform lives, cultivate hope, and build lasting resilience for generations to come.

A Heart of the Father Foundation Initiative

Hunting for God — Food, Education & Dignity is a faith-led project based in the Eastern Cape, designed to bring food security, skills development, and hope to rural communities through a powerful, sustainable approach.

To establish a faith-led farm and academy that integrates education, practical skills training, sustainable farming, and a regulated ethical hunting program. Harvested game meat will be processed through registered facilities and distributed to feed academy children and underprivileged families.

At Heart of the Father Foundation, we believe that when we stand united, the impossible becomes possible. Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, offering refuge, fostering growth, and equipping people to rise, stronger than ever.

Because every heart deserves a home, every soul deserves a future, and together, we can build a world where hope never fades.

At Heart of the Father Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a sanctuary of hope and transformation - where children receive shelter, nourishment, and care, and adults are empowered through hands-on agricultural work, educational workshops, counseling, mentorship, and rehabilitation programs.

Although we currently serve by reaching out from orphanage to orphanage, offering support to those in need, our vision is to acquire our own land. On this land, we aim to establish a safe haven - a place where people can find refuge, grow, develop skills, and thrive in a supportive community.

Our farm-based initiatives lay the foundation for personal growth, resilience, and self-sufficiency, equipping individuals and families with the tools they need to succeed and build a lasting future. We believe in the power of sowing where you want to go - investing in lives, planting seeds of hope, and nurturing transformation that leads to a harvest of purpose and restoration.

We are committed to providing more than just a place to stay - we offer compassionate care, practical training, and spiritual guidance to help people rebuild their lives, find purpose, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

By fostering ministries, education, and faith-based development, we empower individuals to unlock their full potential and live lives of impact and purpose.

Together, we rise - restoring lives, building futures, and creating safe spaces for all to grow and thrive.

Mission Statement | Heart of the Father Foundation

Meet Our Team

Hi, I’m Mandy Pieterse, and I’m so grateful to serve as one of the Directors of the Heart of the Father Foundation.

I often describe myself as an active retired senior citizen and, above all, a proud child of God. I’m a devoted mother of four married children and a grandmother to eight precious grandchildren — and they are a big part of where my passion for people and children comes from.

I believe that every child deserves to be fed, clothed, and loved. Many of the children I serve lovingly call me “Granny,” and I express my love through cooking, baking, and serving others. I also enjoy bringing my creative touch to our annual renovation projects, getting involved in sewing, decorating, and interior design.

At Heart of the Father Foundation, I share in our vision to provide, feed, clothe, and serve those in need, reflecting the love of Jesus Christ through action.

I’ve always desired to make a meaningful contribution both at home and in society — to give women a voice, take bold steps of faith, and make the world a better place. In this season of my life, I’m walking fully in God’s calling, using my hands and heart to serve wherever I’m needed.

Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

It’s an honor to be part of the Heart of the Father Foundation — a family that lives out love in action every day.

I’m Ruaan Jonck, I am a man of God, I’ve been married to my incredible wife, Marique, for 15 years. Together, we are blessed with two children—Roxanne and Ruaan Jr.—who share our family’s passion for faith, service, and purpose.

I am a Financial Adviser, Franchise Principal, and faith-driven leader and visionary with a heart to serve God and people through stewardship, mentorship, and compassion.

As a Financial Adviser and Franchise Principal, I lead a dedicated team of four brokers and five administrative staff members. Integrity and care are at the core of everything I do. I guide my clients through investments, retirement planning, and strategic financial decisions designed to build long-term stability and confidence.

In my role as Franchise Principal, I oversee operations and the growth of my franchise network while continuing to serve as a trusted adviser and brokerage owner. I strive to lead with principled financial stewardship and client-focused solutions, ensuring that every interaction reflects excellence, transparency, and genuine care.

As a follower of Christ, my work and my life are deeply rooted in faith and service. I believe true success comes from living out biblical principles and using the gifts God has given me to uplift others. My mission—both personally and professionally—is to help people build strong financial foundations and even stronger lives, grounded in integrity, stewardship, and purpose.

For the past six years, I’ve served as Chairman of the Board for CMR, a non-profit organization supporting women and children in need. In this role, I help guide governance, risk management, and strategic direction, ensuring sustainability and meaningful community impact.

Beyond my professional commitments, I dedicate my time to mentoring young boys at MTR Children’s Home, spending Friday evenings offering guidance, hope, and practical leadership. On Sundays, I accompany these young men to church, helping them grow in faith and understand the values of a Christ-centered life.

My ministry also includes serving the fatherless and the homeless through outreach, evangelism, and prayer initiatives—living out compassion in action. One of the highlights of my year is coordinating and leading a community renovation project for a children’s home, restoring facilities to create safe, nurturing spaces. For me, this is what practical compassion looks like—faith expressed through service.

Two scriptures guide my life and leadership:

Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another"

Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"

These verses remind me of the importance of mentorship, accountability, and the power of community and discipleship. Looking to the future, I dream of establishing a farm and community development project that provides homes for the homeless and a haven for fatherless children. This vision includes a church and a school, teaching sustainable farming, life skills, and education—a place where faith, family, and opportunity can grow together.

My life motto, “Sow where you want to go,” reflects my belief that transformation begins with intentional action, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Hi, I’m Marique Jonck, and I’m so grateful to be part of the Heart of the Father Foundation family — a place where faith, compassion, and purpose come together to change lives

“First and foremost, I am a child of God.”

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Ruaan, for 15 years, and together we have two beautiful children, Roxanne and Ruaan Jnr. As a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, I find great joy in creating a warm, loving home and serving my community through faith and kindness.

My journey of service began with the MTR Children’s Home Ministry, where my passion for helping children in need took root and grew stronger with each step. After completing the Farming God’s Way course, I felt a clear calling to help underprivileged communities become self-sustainable — empowering others with practical skills and faith-based guidance.

Together with my husband, I dream of one day owning land where we can farm, nurture, and create a safe haven for children in need — a place filled with hope, love, and restoration.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you a hope and a future.”

I’m truly honored to be part of Heart of the Father Foundation — living proof that when passion meets purpose, lives are transformed through the power of God’s love

Hi, I’m Anthony Friend, an entrepreneur, ethical hunter, and faith-led visionary with a heart to serve, uplift, and restore through the Heart of the Father Foundation.

I’m a seasoned entrepreneur, craftsman, and faith-driven leader with more than 17 years of experience in business development, operations, and sustainable resource management. My life and work are guided by an unwavering belief in God’s purpose, and everything I do is dedicated to restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and building a legacy that honors both people and creation.

As the founder of Cupboards4U, I’ve built a business rooted in excellence, craftsmanship, and integrity. My commitment to honest business practices and hands-on leadership has allowed me to empower local tradesmen, create employment, and uplift communities through skill and opportunity.

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, I spent nearly two decades in the FMCG industry, leading national sales and operations teams. That experience taught me the value of ethical practice, sustainability, and strategic growth.

In 2024, I experienced a profound calling from God that completely transformed my path. After years of corporate success, I realized my true purpose wasn’t found in climbing higher but in reaching deeper — serving others and building with my hands. My journey shifted from success through position to success through purpose, walking by faith, not by title.

My heart for helping others drives everything I do. My vision is to teach skills, ethics, and perseverance to those in need, especially underprivileged young men and struggling families. I see craftsmanship not just as work, but as a tool for hope, empowerment, and restoration.

My love and respect for God’s creation are reflected in my passion for ethical hunting and sustainable game farming. With a deep understanding of wildlife and conservation, I promote responsible stewardship, ensuring people, animals, and land thrive together in harmony.

Through my ministry, Hunting for God, I combine faith, stewardship, and compassion, using ethical hunting to provide meat for the homeless and families in need. What began as a personal passion has grown into a ministry of provision, fellowship, and dignity, turning the act of hunting into an act of love and service.

I believe that true transformation begins at home — by nurturing one’s family and then extending that same care into the community. This principle reflects the heart of God’s way and the foundation of true leadership.

Driven by faith and compassion, my mission is to build initiatives that unite faith, education, and self-sufficiency, nurturing both the spiritual and physical well-being of communities.

Colossians 3:23

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Hi, I’m Chantell Friend, and I’m so blessed to be part of the Heart of the Father Foundation.

I’m a proud mother of three wonderful boys who fill my life with joy and purpose. In my professional life, I work as a Sales Representative in the Promotional Industry — a field I truly enjoy for its creativity, excitement, and the wonderful opportunities it gives me to connect with people and build lasting relationships.

More than anything, I am a daughter of the Almighty God, living each day in gratitude for His grace and love. I believe everyone deserves a chance at happiness, security, and most importantly, to know the Lord and experience His goodness.

My heart for people shines through in everything I do. I believe that sometimes, just being there for someone in need can be as powerful as giving them a piece of bread. Through small acts of kindness and love, I strive to bring the Foundation’s vision to life — reminding others that with love, anything is possible.

Psalm 127:3

Hi everyone, I’m Cayla Marais - Social Media Support

I’m so grateful to be part of Heart of the Father Foundation and to share a little bit about myself with you all.

I’m 26 years old and spent 7 years in the real estate industry before becoming an administrator for a financial brokerage. It was there that I met the amazing people who are the Heart of the Father Foundation - and I truly believe it was all part of God’s plan.

On the day I came for my interview to join the financial brokerage, I noticed my favourite Bible verse on the wall:

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15

In that moment, I knew deep down that this was where I was meant to be.

I’m a proud mom of two beautiful children - Joshua (7) and Amber-Rose (4) - who I am raising to love and serve the Lord, just as that verse says.

It’s such a privilege to be part of Heart of the Father Foundation, helping share the incredible work being done through this foundation.

I pray for blessings over everyone who is touched by the foundation - that God’s love continues to reach hearts and change lives.

Hi there! My name is Nikki Swapi, and I’m so blessed to be part of the Heart of the Father Foundation family as one of the prayer warriors.

I’m originally from Queenstown but have called Port Elizabeth home for the past 11 years. I’m a proud mom of two beautiful children who share my deep love for Jesus.

I’m passionate about spreading God’s love, kindness, and peace wherever I go. I’m a living testimony of His grace and find great joy in encouraging others and uplifting their faith.

One of my greatest blessings is serving as a Sunday School teacher, where I help shape young hearts for God’s Kingdom. As Matthew 19:14 reminds us:

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

In my professional life, I work as a Debtors Manager in the office equipment industry, leading my team with integrity and grace. I strive to live out Colossians 3:23 every day:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

My favorite verse, Psalm 23:4, is a constant reminder of my faith and strength:

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”

I’m truly honored to serve God through prayer and compassion, standing in faith with the Heart of the Father Foundation to make a difference in our community

Hi! We are Juan and Lize Roux, and we are so blessed to serve as part of the Heart of the Father Foundation family as International Prayer Warriors.

Juan’s Story:

I’m a devoted man of God, husband of 13 years, and father to two wonderful children, ages 5 and 10. Professionally, I worked as a Project Manager and Digital Agency business owner, but my true calling is ministry. I’m an ordained pastor and certified life coach, currently I serve as the Lead Pastor at St Johns Church in New Zealand. I have completed my Master’s Degree in Ministry currently perusing my doctorate, with my first book written, titled "Discovering the Fathers Heart".

For over a decade, I’ve served faithfully in ministry with a heart for those in need. Guided by James 1:27, my passion lies in caring for widows, orphans, and the brokenhearted. I love mentoring young men, helping them discover their identity in Christ and walk boldly in their God-given purpose.

My vision is to one day establish a self-sustainable refuge—a place where the homeless can find shelter, nourishment, education, and spiritual restoration. Through my ministry, I strive to live out the message of transformation, second chances, and the power of God’s love.

Lize’s Story:

I’m a beloved daughter of God, a devoted wife and mother, and a business owner in the bridal industry. Alongside Juan, I serve in ministry with a heart full of compassion and a deep desire to uplift others. I believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and loved.

At the core of my life is a servant’s heart. I truly believe that “to serve is to love in action,” and I try to extend kindness and support wherever God leads me—without expectation. Inspired by Matthew 5:6, my greatest desire is to see lives transformed and hearts healed through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Together, we’re passionate about serving, loving, and building God’s Kingdom hand in hand. It’s our honor to be part of what God is doing through the Heart of the Father Foundation — a place where faith becomes action and lives are changed for His glory.
